PRELUDE • Mike Meadows

*WELCOME & CALL TO WORSHIP • from PSALM 113 • Rev. Rick Vale

PASTOR: Hallelujah! Give praise, servants of Yahweh
Praise the name of Yahweh
PEOPLE: Let the name of Yahweh be praised
Both now and forever
From the rising of the sun to its setting
Let the name of Yahweh be praised
PASTOR: Yahweh is exalted above all the nations
His glory above the heavens
Who is like Yahweh our God —
The One enthroned on high,
Who stoops down to look
On the heavens and the earth?
PEOPLE: He raises the poor from the dust
And lifts the needy from the pile of ruin
In order to seat them with nobles
With the nobles of His people.
Hallelujah!

THE FIRST READING • Sarah Sheler, Elder
I JOHN 5:1-6

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born of God,
and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him.
This is how we know that we love God’s children when we love God and obey His commands. For this is what love for God is: to keep His commands.
Now His commands are not a burden, because whatever has been
born of God conquers the world. This is the victory that has conquered
the world: our faith. And who is the one who conquers the world
but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
Jesus Christ — He is the One who came by water and blood, not by water only, but by water and by blood. And the Spirit is the One who testifies,
because the Spirit is the truth.

THE GOSPEL READING & LESSON • Pastor Rick
DOUBT • JOHN 20:19-29

In the evening of that first day of the week, the disciples were
gathered together with the doors locked because of their fear of the Jews. Then Jesus came, stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!”
Having said this, He showed them His hands and His side. So the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you!
As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
After saying this, He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”
But one of the Twelve, Thomas (called “Twin”), was not with them when Jesus came.
So the other disciples kept telling him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “If I don’t see the mark of the nails in His hands, put my finger into the mark of the nails,
and put my hand into His side, I will never believe!”
After eight days His disciples were indoors again, and Thomas was with them.
Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them.
He said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here
and observe My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side.
Don’t be an unbeliever, but a believer.”
Thomas responded to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
Jesus said, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed.
Those who believe without seeing are blessed.”

CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER
We will recite THE LORD’S PRAYER together at the end of the PRAYER • MATT 6:9-13 & LUKE 11:1-4

Our Father, which art in heaven; Hallowed be Thy name,
Thy Kingdom come: Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us, this day, our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we also forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one,
For Thine is the Kingdom, the power & the glory forever. Amen.
